Description
We wanted to create a holiday color that represented the season but didn’t scream it from the heights (i.e. no red a green or blue and yellow)
After much thought we landed on this idea. The holiday season in late November/December is mostly about bringing light to a time of year when the days are short, and the nights long. And this is a theme across cultures and religions.
Hanukkah, Yule, Christmas, Diwali, Kwanzaa, Soyal and others all share the theme of the return of light, light triumphing over the darkness, the return of the sun, etc.
Bringing light and creating light, as well as being a light in both literal and figurative darkness is an important theme for the time of year.
This color takes that idea and works with creating layers of light colors. The cream base is soaked in a light tan which is then overlaid with a bright blue. Reminiscent of flower coated dunes, light illuminating and area, or just stars shining bright.
This was first envisioned as a Hanukkah color, but hopefully it can bring a bit of holiday and/or winter cheer to your and your projects.
